Creative Bubble @ No.6

The focus of this project will be on - exploring how large-scale historical landmarks in our urban areas, can be RE-IMAGINED, in order to aesthetically minimise the effect of redundant vacant spaces, that have visually changed the cityscape and city architecture during periods of economic collapse. The site is at No.6 Victoria Street, a classified Grade II Listed building by the British Heritage.

The last has been taken into account while considering the new function of the space, the selection led to a design of an area for numerous commercial uses. In the proposal the ground floor is intended for general use, while the first floor is planned for workplaces and studios, making it a semi-private space. The project was designed with the natural play of light in mind, this for the creation of different sense and feelings.

The entry works as a reception and a crowd management area, here artists’ works are exhibited and can be purchased. The gallery area has been separated into three separate sections for particular exhibitions, in this floor it is also located a small, lovely café, and restrooms with public access. The first-floor features artist, pottery, and screen-printing studios, as well as a co-working area, and a conference room. Each studio has its own private exhibition area where they can show off their skills and artwork.

MA Interior Architecture and Design

The MA Interior Architecture and Design is a multi-dimensional course which incorporates the understanding of interior, spatial and architectural design alongside an awareness of building structure.

The course is an intensive 53 week in length, and it is divided into three successive terms: Certificate, Diploma and Masters. The DIPLOMA SHOW is the conclusion of Term 2, launched in July 2021. At the end of Term 3 October 2021, the same students present their MASTERS SHOW before entering into industry or further studies.

The course has a very strong studio-based culture which is reflective of professional practice, with a combination of design and skills-based teaching and exploration with a strong focus on the spatial investigation, humancentric and holistic use of space.
