Bootham Park Cancer Care Centre, York

Bootham Park Cancer Care Centre is located within the City of York at Bootham Park. The Centre is located just south of the existing York District Hospital which allows for existing healthcare links to be established with the proposal.

The Centre creates a bright and welcoming environment for those who are going through the recovery stages of cancer. The Centre accomplishes this through the provisions of day facilities such as group rooms and socialising space, along with private counselling spaces and in-patient rooms if extra care is required.

The Centre also boasts landscaped gardens to allow for quiet reflection and capitalisation of the existing views present in Bootham Park.

Parking is available at the Centre including accessible parking spaces and electric car charging spaces, allowing for visitors to park at the site and not have to walk far to the Centre. This is also accompanied by emergency services parking to allow for service vehicles to park at the site.

For the proposal, a planning application was created along with a technical drawing package including plans, elevations, detailed sections, services strategy, fire plans, specifications of systems and materials used and construction details to show how the technical side of the proposal would work.
